In her artistic practice, Sabrina Ratté is interested in the multiple manifestations of digital and electronic image: analog video, 3D animation, photography, printing, sculpture, virtual reality and installation. The continual integration of new techniques formally supports themes that run through her works such as the psychological influence exerted by architecture and the digital environment on our perception of the world as well as the relationship we have with the virtual aspect of existence. She was a finalist for the 2019 Sobey Art Award and winner of the same Award in 2020. Her work has been presented internationally by several cultural institutions and museums.
Inscape fits into the tradition of surrealist painting in its own way, creating a formal and thematic link between movement and the artist’s contemporary digital techniques. The painting invites the gaze to project itself inside an architecture that refers to the psychological dimension of space. Sabrina Ratté is represented by ELLEPHANT gallery in Montreal.
