Geneviève Cadieux’s work explores the field of interference of the passage of images obtained by the modes of recording and production of the photographic and cinematographic image. The ensemble of her works constitutes a filmic experience that questions and renews the modes of perception of the image in contemporary culture. The artist is the recipient of the Prix Paul-Émile Borduas 2018.
Marfa, (trois fleurs blanches) is a landmark in the artist’s work. A cinematic image, conceived during a trip to the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, it bears witness to the beauty of the desert landscape and will be the first of a large body of work on the desert.
